Prof. Dr. Brigitte Stiehler

Dr. Brigitte Stiehler studied social pedagogy (Dortmund University of Applied Sciences) and educational science (University of Duisburg-Essen) and trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist. In 1999, she received her license to practice medicine and one year later was entered in the medical register of the Westphalia Lippe Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. In 2012, Dr. Stiehler completed her doctorate at the TU Dortmund University with the research project "Academic career and parenthood".

Dr. Stiehler gained practical experience at the Youth Welfare Office of the City of Hamm and the Dortmund Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department. Since 2000, she has run her own practice for child and adolescent psychotherapy and works as a supervisor.

Before moving to the SRH University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia, Dr. Stiehler worked as a lecturer at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Social Work from 2011-2016.
