Katrin Möckel has been a research assistant on the Bachelor's degree programme in Medical Education and the Master's degree programme in Medical and Health Education at the Gera campus since October 2020. In addition to organisational activities such as conducting admission interviews and entrance examinations, her tasks include teaching in various modules as well as taking teaching samples and supervising final theses. She is also the contact person for final theses and plans workshops.
Since August 2023, Katrin Möckel has also been the technical and content manager for further and advanced training for practical instructors at the SRH clinics. In this area, she is responsible for the curricular design, content supervision of the lecturers as well as the evaluation and continuous further development of the training and further education programmes.
Katrin Möckel gained professional experience as a trained healthcare and nursing professional during her 8 years working in an interdisciplinary surgical intensive care unit at Leipzig University Hospital and subsequently as a medical educator at the Asklepios Training Centre for Healthcare Professions in Weißenfels. In addition to carrying out theoretical and practical teaching in the training courses for nurses, nursing assistants and nurses' assistants, she also performed organisational tasks as class leader and was involved in the final examinations. As the interface between theory and practice, Katrin Möckel was responsible for the practical assignment planning of all classes and the organisation and implementation of regular practical instructor meetings.
Katrin Möckel studied part-time at the SRH University of Applied Sciences for Health and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Medical Education. Her scientific interests lie particularly in the areas of (intensive) care, pedagogy and practice guidance as well as evidence-based practice in the healthcare professions.
