Prof. Dr. Claudia Barthel has been a deputy professor since 01.09.2018 and a professor in the Department of Physiotherapy in the training-integrated degree course at the SRH University of Applied Sciences for Health on the Stuttgart campus since 01.03.2019.
After training as a physiotherapist in 2007, Prof. Dr. Claudia Barthel completed her B.Sc. in Physiotherapy at the HAWK Hildesheim in 2009. During her time as a Bachelor's student and afterwards, she worked as a physiotherapist in the outpatient and inpatient sectors. In 2013, she received her M.Sc. (cum laude) in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy with a focus on Neurology from the University of Leuven (Belgium).
In 2018, she obtained her PhD, with a Marie Curie scholarship from the EU, at the Radboud University Medical Center and Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior, Nijmegen (Netherlands) on the topic "freezing of gait" in Parkinson's disease.
She is actively involved in therapeutic research on physiotherapeutic issues, as evidenced by numerous publications in renowned national and international journals such as "Neurology" and "Disability and rehabilitation".
