About me

Prof. Dr. Irene Ablinger-Borowski has been a professor in the training-integrated degree program in speech therapy at the SRH campuses in Bonn and Düsseldorf since December 2014.

After her training as a certified speech therapist in 1996 (Linz, Austria), many years of clinical activity followed in the field of diagnostics and therapy of aphasic speech disorders (Rehabilitation Clinic Valens, Switzerland; Aachen Aphasia Station).

In 2003, she completed her studies as a teaching and research logopedist at RWTH Aachen University; in 2011, she received her doctorate (Dr. rer. medic.), also from RWTH Aachen University.

From 2006 to 2014, Prof. Dr. Irene Ablinger-Borowski worked as a research associate in funded projects of the German Research Foundation on the topic of "Reading in Aphasia" in the departments of Neurolinguistics, Clinical Cognitive Research and Neuropsychology at RWTH Aachen University.

Research interests:

  • Diagnostics and therapy of aphasic language disorders.
  • Diagnostics and therapy of acquired reading disorders
  • Eye movements in reading with aphasia
