As part of the "Energy and Sustainability" module, students on the International Business and Engineering (M.Eng.) course are investigating various energy supply alternatives for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
What is the project about?
As part of the "Energy and Sustainability" module, students on the International Business and Engineering (M.Ing.) course have been given the task of designing an energy concept for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen that improve cost efficiency on the one hand and reduce the environmental impact on the other. Students on the Climate Change Management and Engineering (B. Ing.) course are also involved in the project.
The students receive real energy consumption data with a high temporal resolution from the company and are to investigate various energy supply alternatives from technical, economic, environmental and social acceptance points of view and develop energy roadmap for the Wiesloch-Walldorf site of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
The students should focus equally on electricity and heat supply in their work, whereby they will carry out their analyses in groups of three in competition with other student groups.
