SRH University

Diversity is our potential

We see everyone against their individual background and treat all people with equal respect, regardless of gender, religion, age, origin, sexual orientation or physical or mental condition. We see diversity - in our team and among our students - as potential.

The CORE principle

Study and work with an all-round feel-good factor

We see ourselves as an interdisciplinary, scientific and cosmopolitan educational institution and have set this out in the Our SRH University section. Our CORE study model puts the individual at the centre. That is why diversity is very important to us: We want to promote the competences of each individual. This applies to both our employees and our students - we see ourselves as a team! Diversity therefore also means social sustainability for us. Because everyone can benefit from our diversity: It teaches us to adopt other perspectives, to take a critical look at ourselves, to stand up for each other and to form our own opinions. This is precisely the aim of CORE; it is what defines our university community. It is important for us to understand the topic as an ongoing process: We are always grateful for impulses in this regard.

Projects to support people from Ukraine, student initiatives for people in need at home and abroad - our diversity results in many colourful activities at our university.

We stand up against violence against women, gender atypical and gender-expansive people.

Diversity and, above all, respectful and tolerant interaction is also important to us in the world of work. Flexible and mobile working has been a matter of course since the start of the coronavirus pandemic at the latest. Our campus and the working conditions there are barrier-free. This gives our employees the opportunity to carry out their work regardless of time and place, whether with or without a family, with chronic illnesses or care needs, old or young, with social commitments or with special challenges. This is also emphasised by our Group-wide inclusion agreement, which sets out binding agreements on equal opportunities for all employees.

Why and diversity is important

"As a university, we want to offer a platform in which all university members and staff have the space to develop freely and realise their full potential. We must maintain and further expand this platform by monitoring current developments, picking up on them and integrating them into everyday university life. Ensuring quality is a major concern for us. For example, we have been certified by the family-friendly university audit since 2010 and would like to intensify our work with external experts in the future. Embracing diversity and variety is a university task!"

We are committed to creating a working environment that is open to all people, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or gender characteristics and traits.
