PROMOS

Study visits outside the Erasmus+ programme. This means if you want to study for a semester at a university outside Europe or at a European university with which there is no Erasmus+ contract.

The monthly scholarship rate is between 350 and 550 euros per month depending on the destination country; a travel allowance may be granted at a later date.

Study trips by a group of students under the academic guidance of a university teacher for the purpose of imparting and deepening knowledge. The trip is eligible for funding if, in addition to imparting subject-related knowledge and gaining an insight into the host country, the focus is on meeting students and academics from the local university.

The scholarship is a flat-rate stay and depends on the destination country and can amount to between €30 and €45 per person, per day.

For internships outside Europe, you can apply for a PROMOS scholarship. Internships in Europe can be funded through PROMOS if ERASMUS funding is excluded, e.g. if the ERASMUS time quota is exhausted or the internship is completed in Switzerland.

Internships at EU institutions, institutions and organisations that administer EU programmes, the German missions abroad, the Goethe Institutes and at the German Humanities Institutes are not eligible for PROMOS funding. The funding rates range between 350 and 550 euros per month depending on the destination country and are based on the funding rates set by the DAAD.

Subject courses are courses with a close connection to the subject of study that serve to further academic and/or artistic training. The maximum funding period for specialised courses is six weeks. In order to receive PROMOS funding, the specialised course must be offered by state or state-recognised higher education institutions or academic organisations abroad. Successful participation must enable the acquisition of ECTS credits; ideally, the course can be recognised at the home university. Examples are summer or winter schools, workshops at universities or similar events. It is best to ask the International Office whether a course can be funded or not.

The scholarship is a travel allowance and depends on the destination country. Depending on the budget, the most outstanding applications are awarded course fees of up to 500 euros.

Travel to participate in international student competitions abroad, such as National Model United Nations in New York, World Programming Championships, EU simulation events.

The duration of funding does not have to be the same as the duration of the stay, as partial funding is also possible depending on the available funds, in order to be able to provide funding to as many students as possible.

• a meaningful programme description of the study or competition trip: technical justification for the trip, presentation of the travel programme (in the case of the study trip including precise visit and inspection requests), preparation and follow-up of the participants, time schedule (1-2 pages in total)
• participation lists with the following information: surname(s) and first name(s), gender (m/f), status (student, graduate or university lecturer), subject group (e.g. business studies, music etc.) and with the signature of all those who wish to participate
• financial plan: estimation of the costs for flight, meals, accommodation, additional costs etc. for all participants, if necessary other sources of financing for the trip
• if applicable, a letter of invitation from the host university or institution

Study trips are applied for by the responsible SRH university lecturer, who, in the case of a grant, is responsible for the content and financial management of the trip. Competition trips are applied for by the leader of the travel group.

After the trip, the group submits a report to the International Office, which may be published on the SRH Berlin website in compliance with the DSGVO regulations. The report is between 800 and 1500 words long and contains at least two photos and/or one or two short videos. Alternatively, a short text with a longer video (min. 3 minutes) or a detailed blog can be submitted, in which the travel preparations are also discussed.

• financial plan: estimation of costs for flight, food, accommodation, incidental expenses etc. and, if applicable, other sources of financing for the course and travel
• if applicable, letter of invitation or confirmation of registration from the host institution
