Who needs a study visa?

Visa Process

Once you receive your final admission letter from SRH International College, you should begin the visa application process for studying in Germany. Visa processing can take up to 90 days, so it's important to apply early.

Students from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, the UK, USA, Andorra, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Monaco, and San Marino do not need a visa to enter Germany. However, a student residence permit is required upon arrival.

For more details, visit the German Federal Foreign Office website. Requirements may vary, so check the website of the German Embassy in your country. You can also use the Visa Navigator for quick guidance on the visa you need to enter and stay in Germany.

Required documents

  • Proof of funding
  • Certificate of health insurance
  • Academic and English language transcripts
  • Evidence of acceptance into SRH International College (your final Unconditional Offer Letter)

Inoformatios for Non-EU Students

If you're an international student from a non-EU country, you need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees and living expenses in Germany for one year in order to obtain a student visa and residence permit. This is done by opening a blocked account.

A blocked account is a special type of bank account, and you can choose your provider. As of January 2023, the required deposit amount is 11,208 euros per year, with a monthly withdrawal limit of 934 euros for students.
