Discover the world of virtual reality
In the Game Programming degree programme, the focus is strongly on software development, whereby you have the opportunity to delve into various specialised areas. You can deal with the development of 3D graphics as well as gain initial experience in the exciting world of XR development (Extended Reality). Here you will not only learn the basics of programming, but also gain insights into advanced techniques used in the games industry. This will optimally prepare you for a career in the dynamic and constantly growing gaming industry.

Your career prospects in Game Programming
As a programmer, you can work in existing game studios, join a founding team or work independently or freelance. You can develop software in the traditional way using established programming languages and development environments, or realise games, simulations and interactive applications using modern game engines and scripting languages. These skills also allow you to work as a software developer in almost any other industry.
If you don't want to go straight into a job, your state-recognised Bachelor's degree will give you access to numerous Master's degree programmes in Germany and abroad, for example in computer game science and applied computer science.

Technically & creatively to success!
Since 2010, we have been offering the modern, practice-oriented bachelor's degree programme "Virtual Reality & Game Development", which focuses on the development and design of virtual worlds.

Interaction design, programming and much more
During your Game Programming degree programme, you can expect a wide range of content that will optimally prepare you for game development. You will start with virtual worlds, game design and computer science basics, then specialise in programming, computer graphics and interaction design. Later, you will choose between 3D modelling, mobile AR and topics such as founding a company. Internships and projects will accompany you through to your Bachelor's thesis.

From study straight into practice
In addition to technical and methodological skills, social and personal skills are crucial today. SRH University 's innovative, successful and award-winning CORE principle promotes independent and active learning so that you can apply your knowledge directly in practice - for a clear competitive advantage.

News from the VR & Game Development degree programme
In 2007, SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg was one of the first universities in Germany to offer a "Game Development" degree programme. This was followed in 2010 by "Virtual Reality", the first degree programme in Germany to deal explicitly with virtual reality as a mass and entertainment medium. These years of experience, combined with the innovative CORE study model, form the foundation for the solid and practice-oriented education of our students.
Yves Masullo and Robin Mächtel show just how successful our graduates can be with their game "Orbital Bullet", which won the most important prize for games in Germany - the German Computer Game Award, in the "Prototype" category for young talent (endowed with € 15,000). Shortly afterwards, the game received another award at the GermanDevDays (endowed with €5,000).
